Environment & Responsibility

Technical progress with regulatory responsibility

Surface coating in aerospace is not a green hobby. It is technically necessary, highly regulated, and safety-critical. Aero-Coating takes responsibility by operating proven processes safely and by consistently developing and implementing technically sound alternatives.

Our focus is not on buzzwords, but on regulatory compliance, risk minimization, and long-term process stability.

Cadmium Replacement and Regulatory Development

Due to its corrosion protection properties, cadmium remains technically indispensable for certain applications. At the same time, it is subject to strict regulatory requirements.

Aero-Coating therefore follows a clear approach:

Use cadmium where it is technically necessary

Recommend alternatives where they are technically suitable and approved

These alternatives include in particular:

IVD Aluminum

Metallic cadmium replacement per MIL-DTL-83488, EN 6118, and AMS 2427.

Resin Based Coating (RBC)

Functional protective systems based on resin per EN 4474/EN 4473 and NAS 4006.

These processes are an integral part of our portfolio and are continuously developed further.

Process Control Instead of Greenwashing

Sustainability is not achieved through marketing claims, but through:

Controlled processes

Stable equipment

Repeatable quality

Reduced rework and scrap

Our LEGiL philosophy (Lean + Agile) is aimed precisely at this: using resources efficiently without compromising quality or safety.

Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection

Our processes are designed around:

Closed systems

Controlled media handling

Documented work procedures

Trained personnel

Occupational safety and environmental protection are integral elements of process design, not downstream compliance topics.

Our Understanding of Responsibility

For us, responsibility means:

Technically honest consulting

No blanket replacement promises

Clear statements about the limits of processes

Cooperative collaboration with customers and authorities

This approach may be less spectacular than marketing promises, but it is far more robust.
